A group of partisans goes to destroy a German gas warehouse at Postojnska Jama. One of them grows distrustful towards the new commander, and it spreads among the rest of the squad. The situation culminates when the mentioned partisan remains cut off inside a cave.

Images from the front alternate with fragments of the besieged city. The last part deals with the aid given to and still needed by the town; an appeal is made to give money for medicines. This film breathes an unfaltering belief in a favourable close: unconditional victory. At the time, the film was a great success and yielded a lot of money for medical aid to Spain.
This movie expresses deep expressionism of the 20th century through it`s visuals and audio. What Kafka wanted to express in a whole 50 page book, we here expressed in 30 seconds. The so called Gregor Samsa (Samsa is actually a playword-Kafka) lays himself to sleep, as he is supernaturally awoken, through pain and angst, as an insectoid.
